Laura & I are getting excited about our next adventure in life. We are planning to leave on America's Great Loop as soon as the new fuel system is installed in Bayou Gypsy.
We have spent the last year and a half getting the 1985 Sundeck Trawler ready for the Great Loop. We have updated the electronics, repaired the autopilot, replaced the navigation lights, replaced the generator with a new 16KW yanmar, working on the fuel system and tanks (we'll have 700 gallons when we get underway), added new digital TV antenae, and replaced the sanitation hoses.
We have one more short, work it out, trip planned before we head south.
Laura and Bill Borchert on board the 1985 Vista 52 foot sundeck trawler will leave Bayou Bonfouca in Slidell, Louisiana on the adventure of a lifetime, America's Great Loop! The trip is at least 6,000 miles and should take us about 3 years to complete. We are excited about the many opportunites that will present themselves to us, the many old friends joining us, and the many new friends we will meet along the way. See you on the water!

Well, King Neptune has kept us at the dock. The weather has been so bad the crosisng from Carrabelle to Clearwater has had only three good days in November and five in December.
ReplyDeleteWe did take the Bayou Gypsy to Biloxi, MS for New Years. Had a great time celebrating with our good friends Greg & Peggy.
We are still trying to get south, probably not for the winter though. Maybe the Spring?
See you on the water....
